Exterior Painting

Exterior Painting in Houston, TX

Houston is brutal on exterior coatings: intense UV, long humid stretches, wind-driven rain and constant expansion and contraction. Cheap exterior paint here does not fade gracefully — it chalks, blisters and peels, usually starting on the south and west elevations.

Our exterior painters in Houston TX build the job around substrate repair and adhesion, not just color. That means washing, scraping to sound material, replacing rotted trim where needed, caulking every joint, priming bare surfaces, then applying a coating system rated for this climate.

What's Included

Every exterior painting houston job we take on covers this

Siding, stucco & hardboard

Acrylic or elastomeric systems chosen for the substrate and its current condition.

Trim, fascia & soffit

The first areas to fail on Houston homes — scraped, primed and coated with attention to end grain and joints.

Doors, shutters & garage doors

Sprayed enamel finishes with proper masking of hardware, glass and masonry.

Eaves, columns & porch ceilings

Full-coverage coating including the surfaces most crews rush.

Wood rot & carpentry repair

Soft trim, rotted fascia and damaged siding replaced before coating so you are not painting over failure.

Caulking & sealing

Elastomeric sealant at windows, doors, corner boards and penetrations to keep wind-driven rain out of the wall.

Our exterior painting process

First we low-pressure wash the entire envelope to remove chalk, mildew and dirt. Next we scrape and sand failing coating to a feathered edge, then repair or replace any damaged wood. All bare substrate is primed with the appropriate bonding or stain-blocking primer.

Joints and penetrations are caulked, then two finish coats are applied by spray and back-rolled or brushed where needed for penetration. We work around Houston's afternoon storms and never coat surfaces that have not fully dried.

When to repaint an exterior in Houston

Most Houston exteriors need attention every 5–8 years, sooner on sun-exposed elevations.

  • Chalky residue on your hand when you rub the siding
  • Hairline cracking or alligatoring in the coating film
  • Peeling or blistering, especially on fascia and window trim
  • Faded, uneven color on south- and west-facing walls
  • Caulk joints that have separated or hardened and cracked

Where we work

Exterior Painting in Houston, TX: frequently asked questions

What time of year is best for exterior painting in Houston?

Fall through spring is ideal — lower humidity and moderate temperatures give the best cure. Summer work is still possible when we schedule around heat and afternoon storms and follow the manufacturer's temperature and humidity limits.

How long does exterior house painting take?

A typical single-family exterior runs 4–7 working days depending on size, the amount of scraping and carpentry repair required, and weather.

Do you replace rotted wood?

Yes. Rotted fascia, trim and siding are replaced or repaired before priming — painting over rot only hides the problem for one season.

Do you paint brick and stucco?

Yes. Brick is cleaned and coated with a breathable masonry system, and stucco is patched and coated with elastomeric where hairline cracking is present.
